When it comes to the sales report of Hero MotoCorp, it is always very
interesting. The results and figures come out as answers to all those
who said Hero will no way survive without the support of Honda. It’s
like telling them ‘Shut up and Mind your businesses’ straight on their
faces.
Hero MotoCorp Ltd (HMCL), the world’s largest two-wheeler
manufacturer, today reported its best-ever quarterly sales, riding on
two consecutive months of record sales. The total sale in the month of
June stood at a whooping 5,34,091 units and this has made HMCL’s
cumulative sales for the first quarter (April – June) of this financial
year to touch 16,42,292 units, which is its highest-ever sales in any
single quarter.
The company had sold 5,56,644 units of two – wheelers in the month of
May, its highest-ever monthly sales, surpassing its previous highest of
5,51,557 units, recorded only the previous month (April’12). The
company had sold 15,29,577 units in the corresponding quarter of the
last financial year (2011-12).
June is the 11th consecutive month for HMCL to come up
with a 500,000+ sales figure and this is a clear evidence of the
company’s growth after the split between the Munjals’ led Hero group and
the Japanese giant – Honda. The company had sold 5,12,244 units in June
last year.
Commenting on the sales performance of the Hero MotoCorp Ltd, Mr.
Anil Dua, Senior Vice – President (Marketing & Sales), Hero MotoCorp
Ltd said, “With this quarterly performance, Hero MotoCorp has yet again
set a new benchmark in the industry. It is all the more heartening as
these numbers have come against the backdrop of an overall dampened
sentiment in the industry and the economy. We have been growing
consistently and going forward, we are confident of keeping up this
momentum. With new product launches and foray into new international
markets, we are looking forward to a lot of exciting action in the
coming months.”
The company is also all set to move on a rapid expansion phase by
investing 2500 crores of INR in coming up with two different
manufacturing facilities in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat which
are tits 4th and 5th plants respectively besides
expanding the capacity at existing plants and in building an integrated
state – of – the-art R&D centre in Rajasthan (Kukas in Jaipur),
which is going to be the largest two-wheeler R&D centre in the
country.
This is a live proof to explain the amount of efforts that the
world’s largest two – wheeler maker is undertaking to move up the ladder
in terms of technological advancements so as to compete more
effectively and efficiently with the global players.
